Julian is currently in the workshopping process with his first play, entitled All I Ever Wanted:

Trapped for three hundred years on a deserted island off the coast of Africa and haunted by his best friend, the spirit of a Dutch soldier decides to face his fears and ask his one true love for forgiveness -- by telling the truth.

Based on the true story of Leendert Hasenbosch who was marooned for sodomy by the Dutch East India Company in 1725, All I Ever Wanted (formerly Ascension) is a one-person play examining queerness both past and present -- as well as how the violence of industrial society has continued to shape men’s actions and capacity for gentleness.

The inaugural reading took place at the Huron Station Playhouse in Los Angeles in June ‘25, directed by Colm Summers. A second reading was held at A.R.T. in New York in November ‘25. The script was a second-rounder at the 2025 Austin Film Festival Playwriting Competition. He was also interviewed about the project and Leendert’s life for the BBC World Service.

Julian contributed a new queer and comedic short story to the Glamour edition of Mike’s Deli Magazine, to be realsed in June ‘26. He also penned the short film COLD CALLER. Further scripts for both film and theatre are currently in development.
